From my window I can see
An eagle flying by
The sun is wakening from it’s sleep
Up in the sky
There’s a cloud up ahead
And I think it’s gonna rain
But the wind is blowing
And it’s calling’ my name

My woman’s still in bed
She don’t know what’s going on
I oughta crawl back next to her
And tell her nothing’s wrong
But my mind wrote a letter
That tears won’t see
And I don’t know why I’m doing this
But I’ve got to be free

So when the sun shines tomorrow
I’ll be somewhere new
With loneliness to guide me
And memories of you
Now please don’t think the worst of me
You know I love you so
But if you really love me
Then you have to let me go

The wind don’t blow
But I can feel it all the time
It’s cold in the summer
When there’s trouble on your mind
But the sand in my shoes
Feels like a long lost friend
And I tip my hat to the city-sign
‘Cause I won’t be back again

So when the sun shines tomorrow
I’ll be somewhere new
With loneliness to guide me
And memories of you
Now please don’t think the worst of me
You know I love you so
But if you really love me
Then you have to let me go
